Biography:
Anton comes to Velocity Sports performance after an enormously successful pro, college and high school basketball career. He played professional basketball overseas including stints in Perth and Brisbane, Australia where he averaged 23.6 points and12.4 rebounds per game over two seasons (2006-2008). Anton also starred in Germany’s first League for one season, posting 23.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while finishing 2nd in the league’s MVP voting.
On U.S. soil, Anton was equally impressive. He played two seasons of Division I basketball at the University of Idaho. He capped off his college career in 2005 by averaging 13.5 points per game and was named the team’s MVP. Anton also snared 8.6 rebounds per contest, which led the Big west Conference.
Between 2001 and 2003, Anton set the table for his Division I college career by dominating at Santa Rosa Junior College. In his sophomore season, he lead the Bear Cubs to their first-ever undefeated season (14-0) by scoring 18.5 points per contest and hauling in an average of 9.6 boards per game. Those numbers earned him First team All-State honors and the MVP award of the Bay Valley West Conference.
Given his accomplishments at Santa Rosa and beyond, it was hardly surprising when online site NorCalpreps.com described Anton as “one of the best all-around talents” in the country. The pronouncement came after Anton averaged 21.3 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game during his senior season at Vallejo High School. Again, the awards followed including a First Team berth in the All-League voting. Anton was also selected as his team’s Most Valuable and Most Inspirational player.
